Logo Request: Korean Air

30 January 2016 - 01:58 PM

Hello, it's me. I'm back for good now (haha how many times have i said that ;-;) and I need a logo for Korean Airlines (http://ae31.airline-...3s3a&player=136). It's 1975 and I'm looking for something at that reflects on the South Korean national flower, the hibiscus syriacus. Thanks!

A different merger system

21 March 2015 - 07:26 PM

Whilst many people encourage simply shared-control to be RPed as a "merger", I took a different approach to the idea of AE Mergers. Please notify me if this take has been posted before, apologies if it has.

There is a option to negotiate airline sales to other airlines, and once a agreement is made on the price of the airline being sold, the money from the buyer is deducted. The money can be used to launch another airline in the world by the user who controls the now-bought airline, however this money will no longer be available when this world stops. Merger fees could be incorporated into the game.

Let's there are two Japanese airlines, Haneda Air & Narita Air. Narita Air is financially failing, and seeks a buyout or merger. The user who runs Haneda Air successfully negotiates the buy-out of Narita Air, and the cost is $2.5 billion. All services of Narita Air are transferred into Haneda Air, aircraft are transferred (with Narita Air config, will need to be re-configured), staff etc and Narita Air disappears from the world. However, the user who was once in control of Narita Air now has 2.5 billion is funds in that session of, let's say, R7. He/She can now use those funds to launch another airline within the session of R7, or if they wish and they have another airline in the world, pump it into one of their other R7 airlines.

Mergers, obviously, are only allowed between airlines in the same country, or if they are both within the EU Openskies Zone after 2000 (However, for example, it's between a British and German airline, the services of the German airline to let's say, JFK, will be cut. Services within the EU will still be present and transferred to the British airline)

Thoughts?

Tell us about your past on AE (How long have you been around, favourite area to start airlines)

I have been a member since August 2014, and have been on two hiatuses in my time here. First was due to school, second due to frequent internet outages and holiday to Reykjavik. My favourite area is Europe, as America is too competitive and whilst Europe is quite busy it is much less competitive then Æ America.

Future plans for your airline

Air Austria plans to go longhaul utilising 767's, mainly ER versions. Once we have the capital, we will first trial out the 767-200ER. As we gain more and more, we may consider the 767-300ER, and when it becomes available, the 767-400ER. Our shorthaul fleet for use on European routes will be made up of MD-83 aircraft, as well as the Airbus family, which will ultimately form the backbone of both our European fleet and all of our fleet. 767's may sometimes be used to accommodate more capacity on routes with high demand.
