In Topic: Should AE change to ICAO codes?

27 May 2012 - 02:27 PM

IATA codes are used for for airline timetables and ICAO codes are used for flight planning, air traffic control, and weather reporting. If an airport doesn't have a IATA code it will most likely have little to no commercial traffic, and if there is it's most likely to be small scale domestic or charter traffic, and will not appear in any reservation system.

If I let a direct competitor who has something to gain by taking over WestAir and then taking it apart ...........take over WestAir then that would be my silly mistake.
But I'm not going to do that.
I'm looking for someone who has little or no hope of getting to the top with the airline they have right now.
And WestAir is the only airline based in Denver which has a volume of 52m.

And I'm not quite sure what you mean by more rationalized, also I don't have hubs........ I use terminals.

Probably the best indicator of how successful an airline is would be how much money it makes and WestAir was the first airline in R6 to buy, not lease it's aircraft and at the same time the first big airline to build a terminal, this was done while I was still leasing all the aircraft models from Boeing and Airbus.
I had too much cash building up and I decided either I start leasing Russian aircraft too or start buying instead of leasing from Boeing and Airbus.

By rationalized I meant using a Hub and Spoke or Point to Point business model and using the least number of aircraft types for it.

BTW, terminals are great to reduce costs however HUBs give you connecting pax with fellow alliance members.

Nope. It'll be 'cleaned'.

LOL, "Cleaning" or "deleting" posts is a common practice in SG :) I used to defend SG when I was a member. Thankfully I'm no longer an SG member.. Bashing someone about grammar to reject an app isn't within me.
