In Topic: Team One alliance

It has been suggested that the Team One alliance create a forum, where we can coordinate and cooperate among alliance members. Here we go!

What is the point I was in your allaince and all your memebrs do is compete against each other! Shame it's too little too late, I'd of stayed but was totally fed up with the way the allaince had a lack of direction and mangement. You said you were a good alliance and thats why I joined but unfortunately all I have seen so far is total infighting on routes between members no wonder so many left to join other alliances. If you want to be good you need more than one running it so a total of 3 airlines and there must be agreements on routes etc so you dont have to worry about an alalince memebr coming in to flood. If this had happened earlier I'd of stayed!

Yeah I agree, the alliance charter will be a 'living' document so that it changes as the needs of the alliance changes but only to benefit the members.

I'm not saying it doesnt happen, but Govt's and the Aviation Authorities and certainly in the EU the Anti Monopiles Commission will and can step in if airlines are using unfair tactics to put other airlines out of business. I've read BA's annual report and they have concern with Emirates and Ethiad but not because those airlines can dump capacity on routes, but because they aggressively promote their product and service with sponsorship of big events like F1. I'm all for competition but when you have idiots flying say a 400 seat a day route with 4000 seats at say $120 price when the default is $360 then you can't really match because you'll ultimately end up making a huge loss and dont even get the pax on your aircraft if you dont drop the prices significantly, So maybe thinking about it a bit more in depth it isn't right to stop the competition but certainly I think that maybe there should be some sort of system in place to stop these stupidly low flight costs. I know what some will say well Ryanair/Easy Jet sell £1 seats - yes they do, but then you add up all the charges that go on top and in alot of cases you'll end up paying more than were you to chose BA or LH for example , and its the prices that airlines can charge I think needs to be addressed maybe more than the seat numbers on a route...

ERRRR - So what you cite one instance of where this is happening. NO airline in the real world can afford to do it for long and as QF are already in finacial trouble it wont be long before they stop dumpoing seats doesnt win customers its the service and price that counts

i personally don't see what the fuss is about flooding, it happens in the real world, if a new start-up is on your routes, you'd obviously kill them by flooding.

In the real world this doesnt happen - the anti monopolies board as well as aviation Authorities are there to stop it to a degree - obviously!
