Recording Wars

29 March 2012 - 08:49 PM

1988, Hollywood, CA:

You have recieved $5,000,000 from a big-shot Hollywood agent to start a recording label. Who will be the next hit? You decide! In Recording Wars, you compete with other labels to get the number one spot as largest label!

Starting point:

After starting a label, choose these two things: your start city and if you go independent or receive support from a larger label. Once you start, you get $5,000,000 to work with. Then, sign an artist, and ask them if they would record an album. The artist will either say yes, or no because they don't feel its the right time/need more songs written/do not like something about the album planning.

After the first album:

Once your artist's album starts selling is where it gets huge. If you chose to get support from a larger label, and the end of the month (game time), the larger label may ask for a precentage of the profits, which you can reject or accept. Then your country's music certification association will ask you to become a member, which again you can reject or accept, but not becoming a member means your records might not sell well, and you cannot get certifications if your album sells enough. After that you can control how you stop piracy, arrange tours, sign more artists, build distribution/manufacturing plants, build studios and more!

At this point Recording Wars has no release date.

Sound interesting?

Hello.

Hi, my name is Ben. I am 14 years old, in the 7th grade, and a huge anime and videogame fan! I started going online when I was 9, however, I got so tied up on it, my school habits got so bad, and eventually when I was 11, I had to repeat 4th grade when I was supposed to be in 5th grade. My favorite anime is Naruto, while my favorite videogames are Sonic, Zelda, and simulation games. I just got back online after a year, by the way. I guess you could also contribute that to me having a moderate learning/communication disability, I won't say which to avoid embarassment and I don't feel comfortable revealing that much. I am from the US, born in TN (Tennesee), but live in IN (Indiana), hence if I have a southern accent sometimes LOL. Anyways, enough with that. Why did I join AE? I found an interest in planes after taking my first flight, and thought "It'd be neat to see how these work!". I'm gonna end here cause I'm bad at intros. Thanks for reading my intro!
