No IFS income is calculated

Posted by dhon on 08 February 2011 - 04:03 PM

As my IFS is one of the source of income with profit of +$128 per pax and $1170 cost per flight, I should have positive net income from IFS.

However, I can't see any "Pax Service - In-Flight" in the Finance section. Is that a bug?

Do you have IFE included on the flight?

And do you see IFS Income in Route Finance or Aircraft Finance?

To un1: yes, i have IFE, but my IFS profit is $128, much more than covering IFS & IFE cost

To Yuxi: both Route Finance or Aircraft Finance can't see the IFS profit(i mean display as $0)

Actually, I dont think it is, because although it says that the profit is that, not all passengers buy everything so your profit per passenger is around $30. (I think I put this somewhere in the IFS files that the profit per flight is random)

I guess I could make the IFS revenue show up even if it isnt making profit, although that is a feature request and not a bug.

So maybe relabel it as max (or potential) profit? :P

I guess.

yes and when putting IFS on long-haul routes, where usually you eat a meal in real life (USA-EUROPE, ETC) are pax required to buy a meal, or do they just starve during the flight ?

And yes, on my "INCOME PIE CHART" (where it shows your revenue for y class , AND F.) it says that im not making a profit on my IFS, although im barely making a profit (my cost: $6.75 per meal, Customer cost $7), it seems like no pax are buying food.

The $6.75 would round up to $7, so your profit is 0 no matter how many people buy.

I had this same pricing scheme in place. The cost of IFS rose but no revenue was recorded either on the flight or the consolidated income statement. After reading this I bumped up the prices and still no revenue recorded.

Same here. My costs are extremely low, and I charge quite a bit more. No single person seems to buy it according to the chart. That just doesn't make sense.

I have a similar problem: On the "flight list" page the IFS revenue is given as "-", whereas the IFS cost are given. Is it to be understood that the revenue and the costs are added and then either displayed as revenue (if the income is higher than the costs) or as cost (for the other case)?

Interestingly, the IFS cost is lower for the first flights (I've got 15 flights a week on that route), starting from $382, increasing for every flight to $764 (where it stays for the last five flights). Why does it differ?

I was going to change this eventually but as of right now, it is like that.

..It does? :|

Yes, it does so for all of my flights. For the first flight in he list, the price is $382, for the second a bit higher, for the third even higher, until the 10th flight, and for the 10th to the 14th it is $764.
