time flow problem R3

Posted by jopsi on 04 June 2012 - 12:57 PM

Date locked up (?), at the moment it says "next day starts in: -18 minutes" (negative value!)

R2 also keeps slipping.

Is this still a problem?

I keep track of this in order to ensure deliveries are when I'll be in front of a computer.

I noticed that the date had slipped by about 4 days last week--i.e., at 12pm MDT, it used to be the 9th of the month but now it says the 5th.

Sometime over the weekend, it slipped another day.

It's not too bothersome. I file it under "It Happens."

In R2...

At this time yesterday, it was the 14th of the month. Today at this time, it's the 12th. So, it slipped another two days.

R2 slipped a day again (either yesterday or early this morning)

No date slippage the past 11 days. Good work.

changed status to: Archived

It's happening again. I also keep track of deliveries on a very specific schedule, and I keep having to adjust it because days are apparently being simply skipped over, sometimes several at once. Not a huge issue, but it's certainly irritating.

At 7:30 PM CDT it was 3/17/91 in R2, three hours later it should have been March 26th (3 hours should be equal to 9 days, yeah?) and instead I found that it was already April 2nd. That's an awfully big jump for a problem I had previously considered a minor irritation.

Each month in AE is 24 days long, so that jump is normal. This system was left over from previous versions of the game when each month in-game matched one day in real life and aircraft deliveries all happened on the 1st of the month - that way the delivery time would stay the same time every day.

Thanks Yuxi. I had started to realize that it was at the end of each month and based on pseudoswede's posts I figured that was the reason, now I know.

Now that deliveries are setup differently, are there any plans to change the time flow to make it more realistic in future versions?

Yes, the next version will have a real calendar system. :P

hi guys,
this bug is now on R5 and it currently says: ""next day starts in: -22 minutes"
why is this happening?
will there be a fix soon?

thanks in advance :)

Temporary glitches like that happen from time to time - as long as it doesn't skip more than 1 day (15/20/30 min depending on the world) it's fine. :P

Since I started playing S1, the date has slipped by about 6 days.

S1 has slipped another 6 days since Friday.

R5 currently says "-12 minutes." I've been watching increase by a minute for approximately 5 minutes now. I don't know if this is related but there currently over 700 routes queued for processing (it seems like a lot to me).

15 minutes later and its up to -28 minutes, with 707 routes queued.

S1 has slipped another 6 days since yesterday.

S1 has slipped another 4 days.
