Not a joke, just its actual name. It's been that way for a while.

"With approximately 5,500 airplanes in service, the 737s (Jurassic, Classic and Next-Generation) represent more than a quarter of the total worldwide fleet of large commercial jets flying today."

This is a lesser-used name for the -100 and -200 variants.
Huh didn't know that
The name Classic stands for the Boeing 737-300/400/500. The 737-100/200/200adv uses the name Jurassic.
Yes it is a little rude, I'd personally prefer 737 original, which is another name for it, but I can survive either way.
Jurassic = the first 737 and 727 generation.
Classic = second generation of the 737 (300/400/500)
NextGen is the modern 737 jets (-700/-800/-900/-NG)
Jurassic/Original: Boeing 737-100/-200
Classic: Boeing 737-300/-400/-500
Next Generation: Boeing 737-600/-700/-800/-900
MAX: Boeing 737 MAX 7/8/9/10
It’s original, not Jurassic
