A310-300 in R2

Posted by sombranegra79 on 16 January 2012 - 06:44 AM

The A310-300 is listed as entering service sometime in 1983 (though this is actually incorrect as far as I know, but that's a different issue). It's now October1984 and it's still not available for preorder yet - when will it be offered, if ever?

There are two entries in the database for each aircraft. One is a year, which displays an approximate entry into service and is what is displayed in the aircraft title (e.g: "Boebus C146 [1950-1955]") and in the "TBA" entry into service date. It should be close to the actual date, if not necessarily the same year. The actual date is a drawn from a seed in a database. My approximated calculations from the seed suggest that the aircraft will become available at some time in 1985-6.
As I said, the two numbers should be fairly close. In this instance, I would assume that somebody has updated one and not the other.

I have made some ammendments based upon my research.

With regard to this comment - it is important that you report errors in game data here. There are simply too many airports and aircraft in game for us to keep track of everything. Reported errors will be verified and corrected if appropriate.

Great, thanks. That's good, as the A310-300 actually entered service in 1985, not 1983:

Additionally, the A300-600R only became available in 1988:

The 600R should now be correct. In future, please take these posts to the aircraft data section. Thanks! :)

moved issue from Airline Empires 3.1

Does this mean the current backlog will be fulfilled, but further orders won't be available until 1988?

You know what? I don't know, I don't think this has happened before. We'll have to see what happens.

Hmm, alright. This could get a bit awkward. :P
