Why would anyone HERE want to say yes? I mean, most of us here love planes, airports, airlines, etc. etc. etc. If you posted this on a regular discussion forum, however, you might get different results.

Im a plane spotter myself. Ofcorse Im gonna say we have our rights. We can infact help them out because if were regulars at our local airports, we can keep a pretty damn good watch on everything. LAX is my hometown airport and I'd have to say that the situation there is horrendous. We used to be able to go all around the airport perimiter and shoot from whatever vantage point we wanted, now were basically confined to 4 areas; 2 of them being parks. I recently went to Europe on vacation and went to Amsterdam-Schiphol airport and I was absolutely breathless. They have a free (yes, free) observation deck where you can view 2 of the main runways and 4 concorces and there's food and drink for your convenience. There's even designated aviation viewing areas all around the airport. But what I was shocked to see is there's basically no fences around the airport. All that seperates you from the planes is a water trench that runs around the whole airport thats maybe 10 feet across. What a great airport

Hell no! Do that and that thread about going to jail just to get good plane spotting seats just makes the idea more appealing!

No way that plane spotting shoud be banned, but I think that authorities (espacially in the US) should not be that ignorant about spotting, because often they only want too see terrorists in us. Maybe the communication between the two sides should be improved.
