IFE 1 IFE system will be installed on aircraft #1871 at a cost of $187,083. This system will be installed in Y class C class F class . With this aircrafts current seat config (102Y, 10C, 5F) the aircraft will have 20 TV screens in Y class, 2 TV screens in C class and 1 TV screens in F class. With a 100% load factor this sytem will generate a revenue of $585 from advertisements while costing $3,114 per flight.

this message I got, when i was trying to install this system into a used 727-100, which i lease.
why should I install this system, when I generate a revenue of $585, while it costs $3,114 per flight?
I'll only loose money on it..

it'll allow you to gain extra passengers if the routes this aircraft fly on have competition, increasing your profits. Alas, this effect is minimal, and thus I'd suggest not bothering with IFE.

While the effect is minimal I've been able to charge $20 above the competition and still get good money on a really competitive route thanks to IFE.

Don't bother on routes that hardly make any money.
