So, my first flight on my own, aged 17. To visit a friend in Greenville, SC.

DL004
LHR-JFK

Aircraft: B767-400ER (old colours)
Seat 44E
flight time 7hr 40.
Food: unidentifiable chicken dish. and Pizza before landing, which was pretty good!

Description: we left LHR on time, which was nice, but then, the safety video wouldnt plane, so we taxied around for a while, then the crew did a manual presentation, I rather missed Deltalina. One particular flight attendant acted like 'the ice maiden', she was pretty rude to be fair, not to me, but the person across the isle got the line "d'you want chicken or pasta *silence* I Said! d'you want chicken or pasta!!" The landing into JFK was pretty nasty, for a moment, I thought we were going to have to go around, I wasn't comfortable with the plane landing on the left side before it landed on the right, it was a pretty bumpy decent too.

DL6060 (operated by Chautauqua)

JFK-CLT
Flight Time: 1hr 30.
Aircraft: ERJ145 (New Colours)
Seat: 17A
Flight Time: 1hr.
Food: Coke and Pretzels.

Description: had a LONG taxi at JFK, got to see the Air France A380 land next to us, it was nice of the captain to point it out. it was pretty uneventful after that, I was surprised to get free food on a domestic flight.

DL3660

CLT-JFK
Aircraft: CRJ200. (New colours)
Seat: 11B (Assigned) 12A/B (actual)
Flight Time: 1hr.
Food: Coke, Pretzels, Cookies and Peanuts.

Description: Once I had said goodbye and thanks to my friend and her parents at the entrance to security, went to look for my gate on the board, because my boarding pass said see the boards, it wasnt listed, so I waited, took a walk down C and B concourse, looked at some US Airways planes....then back to the board, and still nothing, so I continued to walk around, sitting in rocking chairs and drinking coffee, using up the free wifi, then suddenly, my flight is called, so I pick up my things and go to the gate, looking at the board as I go past, still, not listed on the board; its just as well I had my headphones out and heard what gate it was at. Once boarded, the captain explained that we were leaving early due to storms and some presidential traffic over the DC area. So before we set off, the air stewardess came down the isle and asked the family across the isle from me if their child would like to go up to the cockpit, and they turned and said "no, he would not understand or appreciate it" which made me thing, my gosh, I would have killed my parents if they had said that. The flight was pretty uneventful, apart from the fact there was a set of empty seats behind me, so I went and sat on those, then because I was the last passenger, I got an entire can of coke, and the stewardess gave me one of each snack, which was very nice of her, she must have kids lol.

DL148
JFK-LHR

Aircraft: B767-400ER (New Colours)
Seat: 36B (assigned) 1B (actual)
Flight Time: 6hrs 4mins.
Food: Beef and risotto.

Description: Well first of all, I got upgraded :-) Thankyou Skymiles membership! the crew were lovely on this trip, maybe it was because I was in BizEltie, the bed wasn't very impressive, even though i've only ever been in Ecconomy. It was very narrow, and i'm only a narrow person! it was also a bit hard. it's a shame the flight was so short, I actually slept quite well! in fact, I slept for 3 hours :-).

So Overall, it was a good trip on the way back, I would fly Delta again! would like to get myself on an B777-200LR, maybe next time I go out to Australia!

Ouch! CRJ/ERJs on a 2hr mainline domestic route! Even from America I didn't know that that was normal! :toilet:

Actually, Air Canada Jazz has CRJ 700 from IAH-YYC. That must bad too.

:furious:
i understand how it may be more profitable for AC or DL to fly a CRJ but it really seems like an A320/737 or at least an E-JET would be more comfortable!

CRJ-705 is actually the more comfortable CRJ. (ACJazz doesnt operate CRJ-700s)

Anyways, CRJs get operated on many flights longer than 2 hours.

(and DL from IAH to YYC!? Are you insane!)

Unfortunately (most) people aren't willing to pay for "comfortable", so the lowest price/cost wins :/

Wow lol... That is normal... Most airlines fly CRJ-700s on SEA-LAX, and that's a 2hr-2hr 30 minute flight...

Anyways, I remember my 1st plane ride alone! I loved it! :) The only difference is my 1st flight alone was when I was 12 years old... :P

I just noticed on United's LAX-SFO route that an A319 flight is followed by a 767-300, followed by an E120 Brasilia. Strange... :captain:
But yes, most airlines prefer having an RJ every hour on domestics than 3x 767s a day...
I prefer the big jet feel on larger routes, instead of RJs.
