exactly.

Ive been on both and trust me, 787 is more comfortable and that is truth and not airbus bashing for once.

than an 8 abreast a330 in economy? 8 abreast 787 vs a330 is a wash. 787 wins with ease. But it is so hard to find 8 abreast 787s that the most common comparison becomes a 9 abreast 787 with an 8 abreast a330. I have flown both, and much prefer the 8 abreast a330. It's much nicer for solo travellers.

Ya true - but Boeing did design the 787 for 8-abreast. It was just the airlines with their stupid ideas again... like 10-across on the A350

That's why people tend to judge the aircraft manufacturers... Without even knowing that the Airlines sent them the layout they wanted.

True - It was never Boeing's intention to have 3-3-3 on a 787 or 3-4-3 on a 777, or 3-4-3 on a 747. That was all the airlines. Same with 3-4-3 on the A350. It's sad what the airlines do to us passengers.

Its a balancing act: Make each seat wider to keep customers happier BUT charge more for tickets or add another seat and lower prices.

True - but now that BA's reduced legroom and width across the fleet, I'll never fly with them again, especially since AC also flies YVR-LHR and includes two meals and comfy seats, etc.

I think only Japan airlines still have 2-4-2 787s, and I believe it is all of their 787-8, which is more used in domestic flights I believe.

They have some. That is true. But I think all of the JAL 787s, 8 and 9 on all flights are 3-3-3. ANA I believe has some 8 in 2-4-2 but is phasing it out

JALs 787s are all in 8 abreast, but all of ANA's 787s are 9 abreast. JAL is the only carrier to have 8 abreast 787s now.

Watch your mouth. They may have made flying miserable, but they pay my wages!
