The upcoming game worlds featuring a restriction-less open world (like the current sim2 beta except without gate leasing restrictions) makes sim3 somewhat redundant. I'm not sure if people still play sim3 because they like the old simple gameplay or because they can run more airlines.
Keeping in mind that there will likely be more than one "Free World" open and you can run multiple airlines in each, would you continue to play sim3 after the end of the current round?
Retiring SIM3?

it seems old and outdated, the maybe you could just still have the 10 yr limit, but make it look like the current SIM2 BETA

I think it may be worth keeping , it is like a refugee for us oldies. Maybe it should be kept until after the changes then eliminated if demand has stagnated.

The new worlds would also have a set time limit (15 years maybe).

Perhaps having it there just as a legacy game, kind of like having a car from 50's, you don't ride it much but you want to have it

I'm in favor of keeping it running as a legacy (unsupported) server. Like a modern sim1 (except I'll drop in more than once a year).

thats a great idea, enjoy this game a lot and it is very fun, i find the new worlds are a bit more stressful and this is a great place to chill for a fun game!
