As my airline, Red Rider Airways, has grown into longer haul international routes, such as Europe-Australia, Europe-Asia, and US East Coast-Asia, I've wondered why there isn't an option to fly a direct flight between cities. For example, this would be useful to operate a flight from London-Hong Kong/Singapore-Sydney or New York (JFK)-San Francisco-Sydney. This would be good because it would open up more routes to more aircraft. I am interested to see what the rest of the airline community thinks.

Thanks for clarifying my point, that was exactly what I was trying to convey because there are very few planes which can economically fly LON-SYD being able to stop to refuel and to allow passengers to disembark in a stopover or to pick up new passengers would make the game more realistic.:airplane

Interesting issue, I will think about it - perhaps we can integrate such a thing with the new fuel calculation system.

Is a gate required for a fuel stops? For safety reason it's in the real world imho required, passengers leave the airplane (I joined a flight with a fuel stop only one time - this was a helicopter flight within the Grand Canyon area). Is this correct?
In this case you have to have a free gate/gate slot for a fuel stop.

Yes, I think you do have to have a gate. I remember when I used to fly on South African Airways in Sal Island, Cape Verde to New York. The flight would come from Johannesburg, stop in Sal for refueling, let all the passengers out, then when the refueling was done the passengers would go back in, and new passengers were also brought aboard. So maybe you guys could also make it that you can factor new passengers to the route.
