Lately after my fleet downsized, i've been paying arm and leg for gate leasing. I have:
2x Albany Gates @ 99k per month
1x Chicago O'Hare @ 178.2k per month
1x Washington National @ 217.8k per month
Thats 99k+99k+178.2k+217.8k=594k per month
I'm getting charged almost 2million more per month for those gates with the last two months at $2,572,020 per month. I have not bought more gates because I am currently in debt.
How do I solve this?
I'm paying WAY to much for gate leasing.

Yea, I calculated that my gate cost should be $ 4.207.500 million for my 40 gates, but it usually turn around 7.5 million!!!

I have that problem too. It really is a hassle, esp. for smaller airlines where every penny counts.

Well, luckly i have a good rout and i can get by making about 2mill a month. But once i get out of debt enough i'm going to release the gates, and then buy them back... see if that helps.

Same problem here...
I let go of a few saturated routes (plus associated gates), and got a few less contested routes.
My gate leasing should be 12 x $99000 = 1,118,000
but I am charged $1,772,100
so now I'm actually making less than before

it worked!!!
Now my gate leasing expenses went from 2572020 from December to 1087020 for January. Now it should be half of what it was in January, because I had to pay the initial gate costs.

Thanks for the info Mr.... Guinea pig
I'll try that tonight when I have time
Although when I returned 1 gate from Calgary ($99000 per month), my monthly gate leasing expense dropped almost 300K... weird. But I guess this isn't bad news for me, even though I'm still currently paying more than what I'm supposed to.

There was an old bug that may still be there. If a gate was returned due to lack of use, sometimes the charges remain. This may have happened to you, and flushing out everything to 0 reset it for you. Do keep that in mind if you think you may have a gate revoked, better to return it thatn let it go back on its own.

What about those of us who are in debt?

Your just goign to have to stick it through until your credit matches, or preferably is more then the reciprocal of your debt. In other words wait until you have more credit then you would have if your debt didnt have the "-".
Hope that made sence.
