So.....?
Are we going to see a reset today like you said Miller? :puzzled:

Very direct to the issue arnt you?

If you was to take time to read this thread you will see that Miller stated

I have not reset sim 1, and am looking for feedback on how to go about it. We have not reset this version yet, and I don't think it's going to be without bugs.

Thoughts?

Great that we finally get the rest the game was running slow in the over used markets. I was checking the ranking a little bit ago and how is it that the top three airlines right now before time starts, has 4 to 5 million more value than any other restarted airline. That is an unfair advantage to all of us that reset with two airplanes and 5 million in cash.

Scott
CEO Red Bird Airlines

One airline has already been dealt with for probable cheating ;) any others will be looked at carefully by the anti-cheat staff so don't worry about that.

I don't imagine they will be much of a problem even with their small advantage ;-) The ranking does not mean anything at this stage as airlines still need to purchase gates etc ....

Yes, I am.

I did read the thread. Miller also stated....
"I'll be resetting both Sim 1 and Sim 2 on 5/11"

I did read the posts and was waiting for the original purpose of the thread to be fulfilled as it hadn't yet. Since this topic was started I have basically stopped playing the game since I figured anything I do will be gone in less than a week anyway. We have a poll about what year to start in. We had a date for the sim reset to take place. And it didn't happen. So, I was just curious as to when we can see the reset take place?

You seem to be immovable that this sim1 reset must happen the way you want it to, well, Miller has asked for comments, you must be new to AE, Miller will read your post and take longer than you think for it to happen.

Change the attitude and stop being demanding and things may progress.

Not being demanding at all. Here is what I wrote.
"Are we going to see a reset today like you said Miller?"

Not demanding anything. It was a question about an action that was supposed to have taken place.
Then you had to start assuming things that were not true.
"If you was to take time to read this thread "
"Try reading before posts before you write"

I asked my question not because I had not read the thread. I asked because I was wondering if a promised action was going to take place as planned.

"You seem to be immovable that this sim1 reset must happen the way you want it to,"

The way I want it to? What exactly is that? I was just asking if we were going through with the scheduled time or not. If you say you will do something on a certain date is it unreasonable to think you will do the action?

"Miller has asked for comments, "

Perhaps he should read the threads.

"Change the attitude and stop being demanding and things may progress. "

I do not have a bad attitude. Just curious. And I don't think I demanded anything. I only asked a question. I hope my original question is not holding up progress, it is after all a yes or no question. And I already have my answer. So I hope you are not still pondering the question and not progressing.

New question:
Any update on when the reset will take place?

Keep calm ;) Miller's wife has just had a baby which is a tad more important than worrying about when a reset should be made. Miller will see to it when he is ready.....

Sit back and relax and play sim2 while you are waiting for sim1 to be reset (if it is reset that is)

The update will come when it comes, if you want your money back just send a copy of your receipt to miller and he will maybe refund you :sdrool:

Aaah, the standard AE excuse for everything...

In all seriousness though, it has been known for an update to take up to a week or a fortnight so please be patient =].

This excuse kind of stopped working when Miller asked for donations and got them (at least from me). Obviously work and babies and real life in general are more important than running free of charge online games, and I am certain that Miller is not making money off this game even with donations. However, when you ask for money, even in the form of donations, I think that there is some kind of a moral obligation to at least keep the game running. I don't want my money back, I think that this is a great game, I am grateful to Miller for making this and spending a lot of his time and money. I am just tired of reading the same excuse every time someone dares to ask for something or ask why something did'nt happen when it was supposed to.

I'm tired of reading alot of things what people repeat here time and time again. I never said he would not keep the game running or not do what he said he would do it's just that he might not do that immediately due to circumstances. Miller is not obligated to fix things "ala minute".

You've been playing this game and visiting these forums long enough to know that.

Agree 100% in your comments and I also agree 100% with Glenn’s comments, we all have been playing this game a long time, it all boils down to as Maestro has stated many times, there is just one person who is making alterations and improvements within the game (Miller)

Look back at when TW was active, things did get done, thou at times a lot of players didn’t like his ways or other issues, but there was 2 active and the game advanced, there has been a low of nil activity and players moving away from AE in droves, then Miller surfaced again and we was once again advancing, sure his family life comes 1st, no-one will dispute with that, still the low quite period of the game was static for a lot of players, frustrations moved in and they again moved away from the game.

Now since the reset, we have new players and some advancement activity, I expect that Miller having no other (Developers) within the system to assist is faced with home life / day to day work to pay his bills and has very little time to devote to all our requests / issues / bug-fixing.

Some players placed their hands up to assist, be it they are younger in age, that one thinks Miller is afraid of having anyone make alterations that he may not like, on the development side there was activity, aircraft manager and other players placing data to make this game more realistic those players have not been seen around AE since the baby’s birth. And so it goes on and on.

Still, we play the game because;

We like it
We are loyal
We see it has great potential

Just wish Miller would advertise on the PHP web-sites for a graduate developer to donate their time (Like another TW) to ease the work load and make AE the game it should be.

So, now we have a reset within sim2, it has still got issues with a few things that need fixed, one being the used aircraft market, if this was corrected to become workable this will be good for all, the other which I am sure Miller knows about is once you reach 15,000+ established routes the auto-pricing adjusting of routes is slow and a massive drain on the server. That is an issue but the LF script is much better, only other thing is the lack of revenue on sim2 airports that have been added, and we all know that too well.

Sim1 (1946) is running OK, lot of dead airlines and Miller is asking for comments, then we should say, spend a little time fixing sim2 airports / used market 1st, then worry about sim1.

Just my 2-cents of comments.

I've reset sim 2, and time will resume tomorrow at 23:00 GMT. I have not reset sim 1, and am looking for feedback on how to go about it. We have not reset this version yet, and I don't think it's going to be without bugs.

Thoughts?

  • Don't reset it.
  • Take the sim offline and advance time to 1960(?), then reset all player accounts.
  • Reset it and then advance the sim clock to 1960(?) prior to opening up to players. Then you still have to adjust the starting aircraft and or cash to the available aircraft of that year.
