SELLERS

1. The Seller must state a determined date on which the auction will be closed. This is to ensure the auction process does not drag on for various weeks and the transaction can take place quickly and smoothly for both airlines involved in the process.

Minimum time for an auction: 2 days
Maximum time for an auction: 5 days:

2. The Seller in his/her thread must mention the following:
- Aircraft Number
- Manufacturer
- Type of Aircraft
- Type of Engines

3. The Seller must state at the beginning the lowest price which the aircraft can be sold at, which is 50% of original value, as this is the lowest price AE will allow transactions to take place or indicated in the thread that no bids below 50% of original value will be accepted. The maximum bid that can be accepted is of 200% of original value, as that is what AE will allow for transactions to take place.

4. The Seller should state the conditions of payment of the aircraft. Thus, informing the possible buyers of how many days he will allow after the auction process, so the buyer/s will be able to raise the necessary funds to pay the transaction. Due to buyers being in different timezone, a minimum of 1-2 days should be allowed for the transaction to occur.

5. When auctioning more than one aircraft of the same type, e.g. A321-200 , the seller must provide the aircraft numbers of the aircraft for sale. This will eliminate confusing between buyer and seller and thus, everyone will be happy. The buyer also must indicate which aircraft out of the lot they are interested in and thus, when bidding also indictated the aircraft number of the aircraft in which they are interested in.

BUYERS

1. When bidding:
- If the aircraft value is less than $50 mil, bids can be made in 250k increments(minimum)
- If the aircraft value is above $50 mil, bids can be made in 500k increments(minimum)
- Should specify which aircraft (by aircraft number) they wish to purchase.

This is what should occur during an auction. Nothing less than this should be proposed, as it will allow for a smooth transaction and allow to determine a easier final price.
( TIP= sometimes its better to bid in $1-$5 mil increments, as that can limit interest and only leave 2-3 airlines in the process to obtain the aircraft at auction ;) )

2. Each bid by a person must be higher than already posted. Nothing lower than the current offer should be posted on the thread.

3. Indicated how many u wish to bid for, if there is more than 1 of the same aircraft. This will provide to the seller a proper indictation on what certain people wish for and thus, make a proper determination of the process.

This is just a guideline of what should happen when people start auctioning off aircraft in the AE Classifieds. I decided that this was more elaborate and covered most of the aspects involved in an auction which would happened.

Please do read this before starting an auction thread and use this as a base to work from for ur auction.

Thanks. :P

Hey I think one more thing should be added to the guidlines to benefit the buyers and have a smoother and and fare transaction well here goes with my idea I think the sellers should let the buyers have atleast 1 to 2 ae months to save up to pay for the aircraft and if the price agreed to wasn't met at that time period the plane would go to the next highest bidder and so on but to make it go faster the seller could contact the a minimum of 3 buyers to tell them if so and so can't get the money by that time you may have the chance to buy it if you have the money at the agreed price you set since I don't think people are just going to sit there and wait unitl they win an auction they need to be active in buying planes so they wont lose profits so I think this is a great idea for them or the people that just dont have enought yet.
Well thats my idea and I hope it can be added to the guidlines So thanks again

The basis of an auction is to give maximum benefits to the seller. So anything that helps the buyer in an auction should not be allowed.

In an auction, the seller knows exactly when he will get the money (at the end of the sale). This is a key principle of an auction that should not be changed.

At the end of the auction, the buyer must pay as soon as possible.

You may be right Chicken but this is totaly different we are all in different time zones so let's say the winner of the auction is sleeping or doing something else and doesn't login until later well what is the seller to do just wait no he would make a deadline and if the first highest bidder doesn't make it the next highest bidder has the chance to purchase it but then the seller has to wait until the other highest bidder gets enough since the second highest bidder thought he lost and maybe he spent his money on something else so now the seller is delayed in receiving his payment which is not good so by telling the 3 or more highest bidders at the end of the auction if so and so doesn't pay have my money ready by this time. Thats why I proposed that be added to the guidlines and another thing in real life auctions most places give you time to pay like the end of the day(AE month) or others at the end of the week but what I'm saying is that the seller makes a minimum of a ae month as the deadline so atleast the buyer would know exactly when to pay and the bidders know if he doesn't pay I have to have enough to pay so I can get it
So I still propose that should be added in my opinon lets see what others think
Thanks again

Perhaps a "Payment due by XX days after the auction closes" line should be added, and I think a full day should be the minimum allowed because of the time differences around the world.

It seems the seller should be able to set the terms of the auction. If they need money by a certain date they should specify that. If they want to get the best price they could allow more lenient rules to increase the number of airlines bidding.

This would be the best option. My opinion

You should also ask them to put the engine type.

As you are on-line now will try to explain :) There is no correct way to sell gates as this is not offered in the game from the start, but players who want to exchange gates do so by offering an aircraft at a higher price to the gate buyer, then the other player returning the aircraft back at value, or what ever the two players arrange. Yes I did see you offer gates and this is how players exchange the money value. Hope this helps and Sorry Maestro for posting on your sticky, but you also may want to clear up the AUCTION post with a link to this very post :)
