So I know that there is a used market in this release of AE but what about stocking the used market with older AC that are not in production any more like the L-1011 and the MD-11? have a certain amount available for the whole community and once they are gone that is it?

Great idea I think. The thing is they really had to be cheap compared to new aircraft, otherwise nobody is gonna use them.

I made a thread about this, apparently it might happen in the next round!

I'd love to have an MD 11 in my fleet, or an MD 90/80, or a Boeing 727

*hint hint* Torquewrench, Miller :) :D

I would love it if TW or Miller did put in some of the classic Soviet Airliners. They would have slightly higher Fuel costs and not as much range, but would cost less to aquire to the fleet. But some of the more modern ones could have similar economics to their Western Counterparts (TU-204 with RR Engines and 757 would be a good example of this.) Those things do get alot of work done in the real world too!

Great idea, I wouldn't mind starting off with a fleet of 737 Classics. There great aren't they, Analog gauges, flown by hand, like they should be.

I can imagine my 707's and 737's, I would probally keep them forever, use them forever, Even when everyone buys their fleet of Scarebus A319's and their Retarded Whale with an oversize Tumor (Airbus A380) . LONG LIVE THE CLASSICS!!!! yew

I dont get this, why do people want these uneconomical planes? You'd be running extremely high operating costs and not maximising your revenue potential.

Well its like I said in my earlier post. Though they do have higher operating costs. The cost of acquiring the older planes is lower than buying one of the modern planes. So its sort of a trade off, higher operating costs for lower acquiring costs. That might be a good economic reason.

Its also for the nostalgia :P

Come on....who doesn't want to pretend they own a DC-10 or MD-11 for at least a little while.
