Miller,
In the real world Airbus has the honor of #1 a/c builder What is it here at A.E?
Is there a way you can post what the total for each aircraft manufacturer sales are?

and your basing this off of... what? Airbus.com?

Doesn't matter what you think... the #1 aircraft builder is all of them. Name one company that hasn't said they're #1, I'll buy you a coke.

Besides, if Airbus is #1, then why is Airbus making an aircraft for a market they said was non-existant... IE the 350. Why would Airbus originally just slap engines and a new wing on a 330 and think it could compete with the 787? Why has Boeing sold more orders this year than Airbus? Why has Embrear and Bombardier build larger regional jets to compete with Airbus and Boeing on the 318 and 717 markets? Why are there more 737's than 320 family? Obvoiusly, Airbus isn't #1. Neither is Boeing.

Thank you for that opinion of yours.. it made me .000000000000000000000001e1% much smarter.

Actually Airbus has been out selling Boeing since 2001 i belive. With the AC cancellation order and the paris air show both manufacurers have about an even # of sales. There are also heavy talk about potential chinease A380/A350 customers which would bring Airbus to the top again with aircraft sales. One cant compare profits beacause Boeing produces planes for the USAF and NASA and EADS has many other holdings

Two things are wrong with that. AC WILL order those planes again. Probley at the end of the year. Also the Paris Air Show is pretty much the ONLY time Airbus gets ac orders. One last thing, tell me how many more Boeing planes are flying right now then Airbus? I would think a few thousand.

I love people that think they know everything, but only know someone's opinions, rather than read press releases by the airlines.

1) I'm not an expert. I just read very well.

2)

Yes, but this is now 4 years later. Boeing has sold more planes than Airbus this year. I will get to that later. Air Canada never had FIRM orders. They only had commitments. Airbus had nothing to do with the unapproval of this order. If this had happend to Airbus, the same disappointment would have also happend. Potential customers isn't firm orders, so don't count your chickens before they hatch.

Show some bloody respect. And learn to count.

Orders for 2004
Airbus = 370
Boeing = 277

Phil, even though I don't know you that well, I still respect you for your excellent contributions to the FS community... however I never mentioned Sales for the FY2004. I said this year. I'll say it again... "Why has Boeing sold more orders this year than Airbus?" And also, why would you tell me to show some bloddy respect? I respect both manufacturers.. they both make excellent products that have both their good qualities and their bad things.

As of yesterday morning, on the 20th.. here's the orders from the Paris Air Show 2005:

196 for Airbus
363 for Boeing

As of the 20th, 2005, here's the commitments and firm orders for both manufacturers:

475 for Airbus
591 for Boeing

ithboy, you can't really compare overall numbers becuase Boeing has been around so much longer than Airbus.. actually Airbus has done an excellent job in splitting the commercial aviation supply in half. my original post said all facts. i'll provide all the links if you want so you can spend hours adding up totals if you'd like. but keep in mind, i am not here to argue.. i'm here to tell you my opinion.. that there is no #1 aircraft manufacturer. no reason for all the hate.

This year is not done yet. You cannot base your results on a year that's still ongoing. That's why I looked at 2004 results. I haven't looked at 2003 results but I'm pretty sure Airbus sold more as well.

So, they ARE the #1 a/c manufacturer according to the figures. Pathos probably didn't mean #1 as in popular #1, but #1 as in solid figures.

And I meant show some respect to the poster because take a look at your "tone" and language. It's just offensive without a need to. Pathos posted an honest question, but your reply was as if it was personal. Did he deserve your response?

I did not see a need for you to be offensive. But as Pathos is a friend of mine, I see a need to respond to your "behaviour". I admit that I can probably word my msg better, but you get what you give.

I still respect you for your excellent contributions to the FS community...

Thank you, I appreciate the kind words...

basically, it's just a difference of opinion..

of course you'll always have people who will side with a certain manufacturer. personally, i think my favorite aircraft manufacturer... is far superior than Airbus and Boeing :(

I sure killed this thread didn't I? LOL

Wow some of you have taken this post to a whole different direction, who cares if Airbus is or isnt #1 in sales. Pathos just wanted to know for the figures on AE ONLY.

Guys, seriously, knock it off. To be quite frank here, who freaking gives a damn about which manufacturer is number 1? They're all good in my opinion.

This topic was about what the figures in AE are, and lets keep it that way. Pathos, you just have to read, to put it simply. Just go and look at all the order backlogs right now and you can see which ones are on top.

MORE 737's have been sold than the entire airbus fleet. I would just like to point that out. I think a little over 5k 737 airframes have been sold and like all the airbusses add up to like 4k. I will fine facts later.

Secondly, phillip, in 2005, Boeing is selling more.

Thirdly, The airbus facts are so twisted in this game that it is obvious more airbuses are being sold. Since when is an A330 cheaper than a 767?

I don't see how this is a reall suggestion. Boeing/MDD has been around longer and ths sold more aircraft. This should probably be reflected with the used aircraft market.

and like any a.net thread, it is now locked
