Is there a way to view what the maintenance base cost of an aircraft is prior to buying it?

My previous airline was crippled as I bought a Dehaviland Heron. It turns out the maintenance costs on this are astronomical - £.5m in 1950, vs around half that for Convair 440s. Seems a bit wrong for such a small aircraft, but hey ho.

Is there a way to see what the maintenance base cost is prior to buying the aircraft, so I can avoid such crippling costs in future?

The maintenance base price is 5% of the base price of the aircraft.

If you have multiple aircraft models from the same family (e.g. A300-600, A310-300 and A300-600R) then the base cost will be the average based on how many aircraft of each type you own.
