Mesopotamian Airlines is the flag carrier of Iraq. It was created in 2003 after the fall of Saddam Hussein's regime to replace the former flag carrier Air Iraq that had gone bankrupt in the years prior. The airline started off with a fleet of Boeing 727-200s, 737-200s, 747-200s, and 747SPs inherited from Air Iraq. In 2006 second hand A320s and A321s arrived to replace the 727s and some of the 732s, and in 2008 CRJ900s arrived to supplement the remaining 737-200s on shorter routes. 2013 marked the arrival of new A320s to replace the last 732s and to facilitate expansion. Recently orders have been placed for A320neos, scheduled for 2023 delivery, and A220-300s, with the first being delivered last year in 2021. The 747SPs were short lived, being replaced by A340-500s in 2006. Secondhand 747-400s soon followed to phase out the 747-200s in 2009. Two of the last passenger 767-300ERs built arrived in 2012 to increase long haul frequencies. A long haul fleet replacement plan was announced in 2016 including A321LRs, which arrived in 2018 and 2019, along with A330neos arriving in 2023 and later. The A330neos are expected to replace the A345s, B744s, and B763s by 2026.

North African Air Cargo is a Libyan cargo airline created in 1980. It was based out of Tripoli International Airport until 2018 when operations were moved to Mitiga International Airport after the former closed. Operations began with Antonov An-12s and An-24RVs, some of which are still in service. Ilyushin Il-76s were transferred from the Libyan Air Force in the 1980s in an effort to appear to be downsizing the military's cargo fleet (in reality the aircraft were still mostly flown by military personnel with military cargo onboard). During conflicts in 2014, 3 of the airline's aircraft were destroyed by shelling of the airport in Tripoli. The airline have been banned from the EU since 2014, along with all other Libyan airlines. Recently the airline managed to secure leases on Boeing 737-800BCF and 777Fs through shady business dealings. It is unknown who they are leased from, nor how the airline has the funds to pay the leases. Only time will tell how long the NAAC 737s and 777s will be around for...
