Is it better to supply enough seats for 90% of the demand and jack up the price a little or meet the demand exactly and charge the default price?

My instinct says the former is better when you have a limited fleet and need to get the maximum profit from each route. Then, when you have a larger fleet, meet the demand exactly at the price they’re willing to pay.

If I have I larger fleet (I usually do), what I do is supply more than the demand, usually about 20-30%. This gives me some nice extra profit with connecting pax. But, if there's competition on a route that's a different story.

Depends on if the route is connecting to your hub. If it is, what I do is meet the demand and then add one more flight, since the extra seats will be filled with connecting passengers.
