I was thinking of using the 757, as the 737 wasn't good enough for the long haul flights. How much cash should I need to get the 757?

The buy or lease price is displayed on the Ordering New Aircraft page. First lease payment is 6 times the monthly amount (you pay the first 6 months in advance). Just try & buy or lease one and it will tell you how much you need, and will tell you if you don't have enough.

It also depends on how many you order, you get a small discount for larger orders. If you're leasing then its also cheaper to take the lease for 10 years.

For a 757 its roughly around $110m per aircraft to buy and $7m per aircraft to lease - these figures will vary depending on other options you choose such as IFE, seating, engines, length of lease, qty ordered.

If you buy used then the qty won't make a difference, you don't get to choose the engines and the IFE & seats will have to be changed once you receive the aircraft. The price will change depending on the age of the aircraft (when it was manufactured not the design age) - the older the aircraft the cheaper it is.
