I've tried gimp and inkscape. Both are pretty bad for it. What is a good free software for logo making?

I use GIMP. It's pretty easy, you just need to practice on it.

I do too. I have plenty experience on it. It just doesn't work for logos.

it does, you just gotta learn how to use the tools you have on it to your own advantage.

I use Google drawings through drive. Whilst it is a pain to make a lot of irregular shapes, it's pretty simple and easy to use and with enough work you can get a passable logo.

I use the Shapes tool and drawing canvas in Microsoft Word to create logos, and from there I copy and paste them onto Photoshop for further edits and finishing touches.

It can definitely work for logos. I've never really had too much trouble creating logos in it. A combination of what you can find on the internet, paint bucket tool, pencil, path tool and a few more, and you're set. :D

Pixlr E is very useful and you could just use it from the browser. Its very easy and I use it for my liveries.
