What's the point of these types of aircraft? I understand there are smaller markets that might need a small 9-seater turboprop, but what are the benefits of doing so? If someone could explain to me, please :D

I’ve found the 20 and 30 seat aircraft can be quite useful for serving some of the smaller destinations that have demands in the range of less than 10 per day. The Do-228 is especially efficient, but I’ve also done this with EMB-120s and tried it with Caravans. That said every time I try to set up routes with smaller aircraft such as Islanders or Bonanzas, but they always cost more to operate than they make. This has left me asking a similar question as to how people use the 15 seat and less aircraft efficiently...

I tried Bonanzas, King Airs, and PC-12's but they NEVER made any profit on any route I put them, no matter the seating or how long the route was. Although I've had success with earning profits via Cessna Caravans configured with 10 seats and Beech 1900C/D's configured with 15 seats. The profit isn't crazy but at least they're turning something on majority of the routes they fly.
