I've tried many set ups to make money, all economy (32 seats) didnt work for me, nor did all first class or business class. Mixed isn't looking good either, I fly these in routes under 200 mi

Guess you are playing in R0? DC-3 should be profitable but the best starting aircraft for the world is still the Viking. Full economy should be the best configuration anyway.

Generally the DC-3 isn't a very good aircraft in my eyes, it's just not a lot for a high asking price. Same goes for the rest of the starter aircraft there but especially that one.

The Douglas DC-6 is available from the start and has about 2.5 times the seats for $60k extra per month. In addition it can go NY to LA, making it extremely useful for establishing your medium-haul routes. Use that instead.

The 377 Stratocruiser is also an option but is very expensive, use with caution.

actually the DC-6/7 are already out of production in R0. Right now the best starting aircraft is the Viscount and the Electra (Lockheed L-188)

Don't put too many frequencies and raise your prices
