Hey all, I want to find out if fuel costs are different at different airports? Also just a side note is anyone able to know how much fuel costs per 1 unit

Eg 747-100 can burn 70000 units of fuel, how much does 1 unit cost?

Also how is the fuel burn calculated? Is it hourly or something else?

Hope you can answer a few questions...

Feel free to add your own fuel questions to this thread...

Thanks!

It’s actually pretty confusing, I don’t know if they are different at different airports, but I do know roughly that fuel cost is relative to the fuel flow and speed. Between two different aircraft with the same fuel flow but different speeds, the faster one uses less fuel. If they are of the same speed, then the one with higher fuel flow would require more fuel. Also, older aircraft require more fuel. That’s about what I know, I recall there having been an equation for the calculation but I can’t remember it. I’ll try to find it and pull it up.

That i am aware of, but thank you for your response

I really wish they could further develop the game, unfortunately i heard something happened to the old dev

But it would be really useful when planning new aircraft types and routes

Ahh found it.
Scroll to the last comment it talks about the fuel consumption equation

http://www.airline-e...mption/?hl=fuel

This is how you calculate it:

A - Fuel Flow (kg/hr)
from game
B - Fuel Flow (lbs/hr)
divide Fuel Flow by 2.2
C - Max Pax for the plane
from game
D - Speed (mph)
from game

Efficiency (lbs/pax/ 1000mi - lower is better)

B/C * 1000/D

This gives you an efficiency factor you can compare between planes, which indeed shows like Emperor noted that 734 is more efficient than 738

So just to confirm, is the fuel flow in the game (eg 73000 units) is it in lbs or kg?

Thanks for the equation, really helps :)

It’s in kg (surprising since the rest of the game is mostly using the imperial system)
You’re welcome!
