Hello! Welcome to the 2019 Summer Design Contest! 

In this competition creativity is a big factor so make sure not to submit something not original!

​In this competition, your objective is to design an airline based in the Midwest USA and provide a logo and livery with it. A summary of the airline should be provided.

 

Deadline: 7/30/19

A Winner and 2 runner ups will be announced.

 

 

Map:

 

This is the map of states of where your airline should be based and headquartered. Your airline can have hubs out of the region but the airline's HQ and Main Hub should be in one of these states. You may DM me for exceptions.

Groups:

Group A│Full Service Carrier

Group B│Low Cost Carrier

*Cargo Airlines will not be accepted unless they are a subsidiary* (This still means that you can create a cargo carrier, it just has to be a subsidiary of a full or budget carrier)

Creativity:

Creativity plays a big part in judging. Some things to think about are logo design, fleet, concept, airport selection etc.

 

 

 

Rules:

 1. A submission must require: a logo, livery and a summary. Points will be added for additional addons and creativity.

2. Participants may submit up to 2 entries. If a participant chooses to submit another entry the other airline may not: be located in the same city/airport, be a subsidiary, same logo and livery etc.

3. Airline submissions must be located in the Midwest USA. 

4. Cargo Airlines are not allowed unless they a subsidiary.   

 

Format:

Group (A/B)│Airline Name │(IATA) Base Airport

 

Example:

Group A│MidAir│(ORD) Chicago O'Hare

 

Guidelines:

1. Airline logo, livery etc. must be as original as possible

2. Only modern airline designs are allowed on modern aircraft. (Brand Revolutions are allowed and may add points)

3. A summary describing the origin, objectives, hubs etc. must be provided.

 

Points:

Total: 17 pts

1. General Requirements: 7 pts possible

2. Concept: 5 pts possible

3. Creativity: 5 pts possible

 

At the end a Public Poll will be put up. Public Votes account for 60% of the score!

why A220 requirement?

Heartland Airlines is a US Major based in St. Louis, Missouri. Below is a small sample of our award winning fleet and other products of the airline.

why A220 requirement?

I thought it would add a fun twist. You can do other planes like Britannia did here as long as you have the A220.

Hmm, this is extremely restricting with only 1 plane to be used. How about expanding the selection to narrow-body only? Using 1 type of aircraft would prevent lots of members from participating.

You can use any other plane but the A220 is required. You can put a 777 or a A380 but you just have to provide a livery of a A220.

Group B | Jetaway 

 

Jetaway is an American Low-Cost Carrier with corporate headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio. It flies point-to-point services, 

typically between smaller cities in the North East, South, and Mid-West.

 

Its fleet consists mostly of Boeing 717-200 (27) and Boeing 737-700 (35) aircraft. However, in 2017, the airline placed an

​order for up to 90 CS100 and CS300 aircraft. Deliveries of the new type began in 2018.

Side notes and feedback regarding the competition:
Although it was not a problem for me, I think you should remove the "must have A220" rule.

The A220 requirement has been removed due to negative feedback, but an A220 will still be appreciated.

One more thing, how come Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee and Kentucky be included here?

Group B│Sunshine│(STL) St. Louis Lambert

 

A low-cost airline formed in 2004, Sunshine connects the Midwest, East Coast, and the South with low fares and surprisingly good service for a budget airline. The airline originally operated E-Jets and ERJs but phased them out in favor for CRJs and the A220 series. Pictured here is an A220-300 in their new livery.
