Why is the IL-96-300 so unprofitable?

I maxed out one's hours flying from DTW-PVG and it's only making 175k

Umm that’s considered pretty profitable.
If your IFS is overkill and money losing then that’s one reason
Second is competition
Third is fuel efficiency.
Considering the size of the Il-96-300 and the time period which this is in its pretty normal.

Domestic flights earn more money than international flights. My 707 on domestic earns 2-3 times more money than international. Same for my Tu-114 and my 880M
