What about starting some sort of gofundme or whatever to raise money so game development can restart? This game is going nowhere if nobody does anything.
Donations to restart AE Development?

Before any GoFundMe is created, we would need to lay out an official, working and active staff team/planning committee. After.funds are raised, money could go towards contacting certain parts of development/feature development to developers that are both reliable and affordable.
After that is done and a player base has grown, certain things can be intoduced to keep cash flow positive. Such as the option for players to donate and minimal ads on the forums site.
I would be interested in helping lead this to be honest.

The option already exists to go ad free, cost is $20 per year. It is however hidden away, click on your user name to find it.

I'm talking about something different.

Yeah, but we are more talking about putting something more firm in place ensuring all money put towards this would get used for development. I can't tell for sure but I assume the $20 donations cover server rental costs.
Doing this, I plan we would also form a dedicated group of people to act on this. Does Yuxi own the site or does he just manage/dev it?

I am not 100% sure but I believe he owns it, along with managing and developing it. There are also a few other people involved with running AE, but doing things like running the forums or managing the aircraft database.

I wouldn't mind them putting ads on the website. Not sure why they haven't done it.

They already have ads in game, as a banner near the top of the page. Just enter an airline in the game.

This game has tons and tons of ads (they have two big banners in the game, one on top and one below. The $20 paid thing is to block ads. Every single page you enter has a different ad, so I’m guessing that brings in a lot of ad revenues which is good for the game.

I never see any when browsing the forums and I don't use any adblock or anything. Or do you just mean the actual game?

Forums don’t have ads, but in the real game (esp on desktop) there are. They aren’t that annoying though, and there are many ads, so it’s a rather effective way of getting money, moreover anything you click brings you to another page, making the ad revenue much more.I never see any when browsing the forums and I don't use any adblock or anything.
