So I was bored and decided to look into this, coming across a topic at Airliners.net from some 20 years ago about your topic, one of the comments said:

"In March 1987, Air Inter decided to purchase 15 A330 (and 15 options). This order was confirmed the 14th December 1987 and the domestic carrier became the launch customer. From the 14th to the 17th September 1993, the A330 was tested on the network of Air Inter. The first aircraft, s/n 37 was delivered to IT the 30 December 1993 and first flew for commercial flight the 17th January on Paris/Marseille.

Very quickly, Air Inter saw this plane was not great for domestic flights and the market which have had changed between the order time and the deliver time, due to introduction of competition, only 4 aircraft will be delivered and flown.

Late in 1996, they were stocked in Châteauroux and Toulouse, before they joined Sabena's and Aer Lingus' fleets.

The A330 flown by Air Inter were -301 type, GE CF6-80-E1 engines and could carry up to 412 passengers in a single class configuration."

Which makes sense since AFAIK Air Inter's operations were mainly, if not entirely, domestic.
