I have something that comes a step before branding and livery designing which is coming up with an airline name and that can sometimes be just as tough as the livery designing if not tougher. I was thinking people could put their methods of coming up with an airline name in this thread. I know that this is a problem for many people, and I know it also takes a long time to come up with one, look at how long in took JetBlue, but I still think it would be helpful.

If it's just a low cost airline, I just mash together a couple of basic terms, like Speedstar

Otherwise, I would name my airlines after ones now defunct (Ozjet), or after a national emblem, such as Springbok Airways for SA. Not very creative, I know, however it makes little difference to me.

Naming your airline and designing a livery for it depends on the country/continent of origin (in some cases).

I usually do a little bit of "research" for example, my main airline named Avian Airlines was derived from the word itself "Avian" which relates to birds so as it was inspired with birds I'll design a logo that has a bird on it. (A simple Google search can fuel your imagination).

I use terms that are usually associated with the country of origin.
