After you operate more than 25 gates or so with larger props and jets, you'll get the benfits.
What kind of benefits?
Or...you could be bored...mess around with the gates...and accidentally make a hub and go 2 mil in debt (yes thats what I did, and now I have a hub at nrt)
Yes, that's what I did! I went 3 mil in debt!

Is there any way to remove a created hub? I did create it by mistake!
Return all gates and start over at that city.
At this time there is no way to return a terminal that you may have built and if you put a hub on a terminal, then that is permanent.
And for your info, if you build a terminal, the gates that you had at that airport are released for rental. You do not retain or absorb them.
A little of this and a little of that.

What would you recommend me to do? Continue expand or return all gates and inauguarate the routes again?
It depends.
Do you have enough DOP to absorb the hub cost on a monthly basis? Can you buy gates or have you hubbed a popular location? If you don't start over, your strategy is set: build a large spoke and hub network as fast as possible.
A little of this and a little of that.

When you make an airport in which you have a considerable market share a hub, since you're handling lots of PAX traffic, you can say those same PAX start using your airline's routes as connections, therefore increasing the load factor (1st time you have to reset prices). If you got like 25 gates and lots of market share, add a high density long-haul and you'll notice how the 100-300nm routes boost up considerably.
Questions about this :
Do I have to reset ALL routes and if so, what if I have same routings with two different Route IDs?
Also, would a hub with small amount of gates but big plans work? e.g. 5 gates but all operated with 757s, 330s and 747s? Think NWA at NRT.

It might work...but you gotta get them big planes first...and many our there dont have that yet...should work though. And you cant forget that NWA is still operating DC 10s and A320s outta NRT speaking of which.....i wish we could bring back McDonnell Douglas to the game...be a nice comeback..but thats just a wish...
I forgot about the DC10s, I know they don't operate the 320s into NRT anymore though, they were only they during SARS. Yeah, its a shame the vintage planes aren't in the game. They wouldn't be able to compete with the likes of the 777s and 330s, but I would definitely operate them for the hell of it.
