I hope this doesn't sound confusing.

Currently the meal options for inflight services have breakfast, lunch, and dinner all separately and one could choose to serve one or all of them. I think that instead, it just just be one thing called meal options. This way we don't have to pay for all three meals even though they all technically wouldn't be served. With it all consolidated into one meal option. You can still choose to have one, two or three dishes for passengers to choose from, but you wouldn't have all those dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals. Basically, based on how long the flight is will determine if there are one or two or even three meals served on the flight, this way we only get charged for the logical meals. I think it would also help eliminate some of the more extreme forms of IFS as people will not be charging full price for worst quality meals on three dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

I attached two images, one is the current system, the other is the current one with things colored out. On the IFS page there would only be one meal option thing with the same possibility to provide three different dishes. The there would be a set system the decides if a flight will serve one, two or three meals during the course of the flight. The number of dishes chosen will be applied to any meal given during the flight whether it be lunch, dinner, and/or breakfast. This prevents scam IFS where pax are buying all three meals on a 6 hour flight.

There is the occasion where an airline wants to offer their F/C/Y pax a meal for purchase on flights less than 3000 miles, in this case, I think that the revenue from these flights should be a percentage of the maximum profit as not every passenger is going to buy the meal on the flight.
