A330 and A340 production line

Why is it that the two aircraft types are listed in the same table and share the same delivery schedule.

 

I find it a bit strange that I have to wait until all of my A340's are delivered until I an get any A330's.

Because they are both in the same aircraft family and use the same production line. It's the same with the A320 family, Boeing 737 family, etc.

Just reflects what Airbus does at Tolouse... the A330 and A340s built came from the same production line.
