Mine is clearly the Boeing 757-200/-300, with a generous max range and capacity while still being small enough to operate to smaller airports, and being cheaper than widebodies and some narrowbodies. Nothing really comes close to replacing it until the 737-900ER or the A321NEO, both of which lack the capacity of the 757.
What is your favorite aircraft in the game?

777-200 just beacuse of range, I made the mistake to order 10 777-300s and then I found out they will only reach a small part of Europe. *cough* we need stopovers urgently *cough*

757-300, extremely versatile and, unfortunately, irreplaceable. And of course, A320-200 is a staple for short haul.

Beech 1900D Because of its great capabilities.I once operated an airline with 25 beechcraft only and it made a good profit

A330-300, also like the fokker 70/100 for regional stuff that doesnt get much love in the game.
Are the fokkers actually profitable in routes below 1000mi? I am always thinking of buying them but that 13000+ of fuel consuption is keeping me away from them.

The F-100 is decent for profit. I tried F-70 once and made sure to replace them as soon as the CRJs came out. You should never order the f-70. It can survive a route run by just you but as soon as competition rolls in don't even think about beating their price. Are the fokkers actually profitable in routes below 1000mi? I made an entire airline in California running Fokker 100 and EMB-120s. Pullled profits even with a realistic IFS and salaries.

F100 can work pretty well, but I found BAe 146s and Avro RJs to work better. They're a little bit slower, but you can configure them in a lot of different ways and carry a lot of pax for their size.

not my favorite aircraft, but when I was trying to operate long haul out of MDW, SAT, and SMF, the 747-400D was super helpful because its runway requirement is super low

Il-18 for relatively early games. Capacity of a 737-200 with a whole lotta range and impressive fuel efficiency.
