I love the CRJ1000EL for short distance shuttle routes where I want 70x or more weekly frequencies.

For narrowbodies, my other favourites are A319,320,321 & CS100,300.

For widebodies, I really like the 787-8 & the 767-400ER.  The 777-300 is amazing for profits, but runway length requirements limit the airports you can serve with it.  I also really liked the A330-300 but I noticed that the purchase/lease price has been dramatically increased recently, so I'll likely use the A340-300 in game despite it being far worse in real life.

For turboprobs, I really like Q300,Q400 & ATR-42-600 & ATR-72-600.

My new favourite is the A340-300, because they must have forgot to increase the price of them. Cheap as chips compared to all the other long haulers, and cracking range and fuel economy

The Ilyushin Il-96-400 and Tupolev Tu-214 have been game-savers for me, at least in the very early stages of starting my airline.

Over my time in AE, i found 3 aircraft which are my favourite and a staple piece in most of my airlines:

Airbus A320-200 - Great for short to medium haul. Great for routes that require frequency and pretty versatile.

Boeing 757-300 - Great for those trans continental routes with great capacity. Also, if required, great aircraft also for those routes that need frequency.

Airbus A330-300 - Just great overall. Anything under 6000 miles and the A330-300 does the job, short, medium or long haul. Good choice to being flying long haul routes after starting a new round and setup a good short haul network from your hub/focus city.

Probably DC-10s, DC-11s, and Boeing 777s for long haul.

Boeing 737s for short and medium haul flights.

Especially BAe 146s, novelty purposes.

It depends on the year but if we’re talking about today then:

Short Haul - Bombardier CS100 and CS300
Medium Haul - A321NEO or 757-200
Long Haul - A350 or 767-300

From Sydney to Europe, the 777-200LR is a lifesaver. It's the only option and perhaps not as good as the 787-9 could be, but profits are high and so many routes are available. If a noob wants to spam you, because you can't put a 747-400 with 660Y or similar on the route, it's difficult to do.

The 757 still remains a favorite of mine for its versatility and affordability, but now I have another favorite to accompany it: the 737, because it's readily available as a starter in more worlds than the A320 and still makes for an ideal, capable short-haul plane.

737-500. Good for small routes before the rise of RJs

767 and the 757 because they can fly to virtually anywhere.

Boeing 747-400 (long Haul)

Whenever I play I always find the 747-8I is a massive upgrade on the 747-400. Huge difference in fuel economy. Sometimes even a 777-300ER carrying slightly fewer passengers could turn more profit than a 747-400.
