Debate Boeing/Bombardier Fight

Am I the only who gets annoyed at the fact that the USA is trying to destroy the CS100 deal with delta just so Being can sell more 737 MAX 7 which isn’t going to sell well. I get that it’s all business but the CS family is just so amazing.


What do you all think I wanna hers your thoughts!!!

Hey... I'm an American... but I totally agree. I like the CS100/CS300 much better than the 737-7 MAX. Besides, when Southwest is the launch customer of any aircraft, it's going to sell well.

 

I also think that Boeing should start investing more into larger aircraft like the all-important 757 replacement, and perhaps a clean-sheet replacement for the 737. Because let's face it, making a flying pencil out of a 737 (I'm looking at you, MAX 10) isn't a good idea.  It will have to have a tail bumper like on the Concorde if it wants to take-off or land without a tail strike.

Boeing have already started to design a clean sheet 757 replacement if you will.

The 797 will be the middle market airplane for Boeing that takes a seat above the MAX 10 but slots in below the 787

 

Note: the 757 can carry 200 to 295 passengers for a maximum of 3,150 to 4,100 nautical miles (5,830 to 7,590 km), depending on variant.

​Note: the 797 would seat between 220 and 270 passengers for flights of up to 5,200 nautical miles, or just over 10 hours.

 

​The 797 will never be a direct replacement to what the market desires it to be but Boeing has looked at the market and seen that Airbus tried to take advantage of it by introducing the A321neoLR but that too is not a real replacement for the 757. This in return with airlines demanding a new TATL aircraft has made Boeing realise that a new advanced, clean sheet design to incorporate the 757 missions and part of the 767 missions into one will be a market leader in its segment.

Well, the CS100/300 sounds better with 5 across seating, which is currently being phased out (MD80s). I think 5 across is much more comfortable than 6 across.

Yeah I’ve heard they are making the Boeing 797 which will replace the 757, I know Airbus did that with the A321LR but it’s not meeting the requirements if you know what I mean.

It’s a shame that the USA is using its power to make airlines around the world hesitant about buying the C Series. P.s. AirBaltic CS300 my favorite!

Incredibly crappy move on Boeing's part, but also on the Commerce Department. They slash prices on airliners all of the time, so does Airbus. No one is going to be able to sell a plane that has a 300% tariff. If Boeing were that worried about the Cseries, they should have invested in an airplane that was competitive, or tried to buy the program just like Airbus ended up doing. Don't get me wrong, I love Boeing, but what a disappointment. Hopefully the CSeries will now have a much brighter future with Airbus at the helm.

Boeing's argument is morally unfounded but because the current government is all for big corporations they can get away with such stupidity. 

 

In addition the CS100 that Delta did order does not compete with the 737-700. Period. They weren't even in the discussion. It's a bunch of big us corp bs and it's incredibly unfortunate for the industry and the consumer.

100% agree, and to add an additional twist, now Boeing is in talks with Embraer. If they were that worried about this market, they should have provided a competitive alternative years ago. They killed the 717 in 2006 and showed absolutely zero interest in further development in smaller airplanes. You made your bed...

You do realise this is something EVERYONE DOES ON EVERY SINGLE COMMERCIAL AIRCRAFT ORDER, WHICH INCLUDES BOEING AND AIRBUS, right?
