Today at 10am AEDT, the ABS annouced the results of the marriage law survey.
Its my pleasure to report to the AE community that Australia has returned a strong yes vote in favour of Same Sex Marriage.

Funny how 61% is an "overwhelming", "resounding victory". (news.com.au isn't biased at all, no!). I got 61% in my physics HSC exam many moons ago. I never realised that that was a overwhelming, resounding victory. The exam was overwhelming but I didn't think my result was anything more than a bottom-of-the-rung pass.

Also funny how this all-about-love-&-equality mob will viciously vilify anyone who even smells of discrimination or dares disagree with their personal preferences. Equality seems to mean everyone having their opinion.

Nothing more fun than being a hetrosexual christian with a bisexual daughter & transgender son.

All the Yes vote does is rearrange the deck chairs on the Titanic. Which is why I voted Yes too.

Yeah really the argument should be "why can't gay folks be as miserable as straight folks and get married?" Or "well I eat shellfish often and wear multiple types of cloth on a daily basis so clearly scripture doesn't really matter".

Honestly having read Scripture (and I'm slowly making my way through the Quran though admittedly improperly as it's in English) I find most religious arguments for or against things to be rooted in hypocrisy. Reading comprehension: clearly not a skill we teach any more.

I mentioned I was a Christian but I'm not offering any religious argument in relation to LGBTQI orientation or preferences. I love my kids regardless of what they do, think or believe.
