Why AE hasn't been in development

There's no better way to say this but Yuxi (the old dev for AE) died in 2014 on the 580 in Livermore, California. Since then things like trophies, world resets and things like that have been executed via script he wrote a few years before he died.
So unless one of you knows how to code, stop suggesting things.

Then how do you explain the server change that happened in the summer and the feature that Yuxi announced about the more detailed IFS earlier this year ? Plus I sent him a message in February about an issue I was facing ?
"Yuxi" (the forum account) has been under administration of another member. Server migration has done by the company who provides us server services.

How do you know that was Yuxi? It's been awhile since we've had to do this (which honestly we used to do when AE had a chat room) and with all the new members coming to our community lately I fear it's time for this again.

Ok OK what I think is that Yuxi should let volunteers help with running AE and helping develop the game further IMO. IK a lot of ppl disagree w/ me on this, but I personally would be delighted to help, as I have some experience with coding in multiple languages.

His family contacted a member who wishes to remain anonymous because the last time we told folks who they were, their inbox got spammed.

That's hard to believe, but if it's true, I'm really really sad.

Why? AE basically runs itself through ad revenue, and has done so for years now

So? I'm not into things because of the money - I really enjoy playing this game, and I'd like to see updates to it that make it better for everyone.

Imagine how those of us who knew him felt when we learned the news

Its a sad day on AE. Thank you to brother Steve for sharing the news with me.
Did you even read? He's been dead for literally years. But yes it's always sad when one of us has to tell people again.
If there are any moderators left I'd like this thread pinned

CHP Officer Steve Creel
I'm sorry you had to go through that whole ordeal Steve.
In all seriousness, Yuxi was a good man and I already enjoyed his trip reports and gag jokes.

Just wondering (because I dont want to believe it ) why were there pictures uploaded on to his flickr account in 2016 if he died in 2014 ?
Sorry If I am annoying I just can't handle death well even when it is about someone I didn't know.

No that is not necessary,
Its really sad
And while everybody's here this does raise the question of who (if anybody) wants to replace Yuxi as head developer here at AE. For 3 years AE has been without a captain and if there's sufficient interest we might be able to get a new one.
if I had more knowledge in development I would volunteer, but sadly I don't know enough.
