So many planes are now 9 across (though many 777s are switching to 10 across), but what is your favorite seat?
For the purposes of this poll I assume a ABC-DEG-HJK configuration.

Nope. On Air Canada, at least on the overwing exits which have less extra space and are more of secondary exits, you only have to be 12 or 13 or something.

On CX you only have to be 12 but still, haven't flown exit yet...

you should. It's awesome. so much more space. I'm might be flying CX this march to JFK for the first time. Either that or philippine. First time for that one too.

In the US it's 15, so HKG-JFK on CX would be 15, not 12. The US requires 15. I flown on CX planes: A330, A340, 747-400, 777-300ER, and not to mention KA A320 and A330. I live in HK...

sorry, I meant YVR-JFK for both airlines, they both operate it as a fifth freedom and they're the only ones on the route, AC flies to EWR but not JFK. They might require 15, but I don't think they do. I flew AC's YVR-LAX and I was in an overwing the entire flight, I was 14 then too.

I also like windows seats, especially the seats at the first row of the cabin (Some of which don't have exits, like Row 20 of Eva Air's Elite Class).

My personal order of 9 abreast seats.
C and G (definitely my choice for day flights if travelling with anyone)
D and F (My personal choice for day flights, only 1 person climbing over you ever. Doesn't get as much light as C and G though)
E (no one climbing over you ever, only 1 person to climb over on either side, but it is a middle. Would be my choice for night flights.)
A and K (no one climbing over you, and a window, but 2 people to climb over. Would only choose personally if travelling with family or on a particularly scenic flight)
B and J (why anyone would choose these, I do not understand, I would prefer a seat E to these for sure. There are no benefits to them)

On two separate occasions with AC, I've been able to get the overwing exit row because I was seated right behind it & the passengers who had booked the seats weren't able to speak English or French, which is a requirement. Quick switch of seats & presto. Extra legroom for free!

haha lol. I was just booked into the exit row from a mistake on AC's computer booking thingy. Then the asked me and my friend who I was traveling with how old we were, and if we could speak english, and that was that.

Does it matter if they're 9 abreast? The best seats are always aisle or window seats, and the worst seats are middle seats. On literally plane.

I agree. The window seats are really great and the E seat does have some advantages on this layout

Lucky enough, almost all flights on B777 is on 2-5-2 configs (Americans and Korean Air), so I snapped the windows on this one. The 3-3-3 I had was on the JAL B777. So I pick the very last row where the window seat is in 2-3-2 config due to the curvature of the rear fuselage.

I thought that American Airlines reconfigured all of their 777-200s to 3-3-3. And according to SeatGuru there is no such thing as 2-5-2 on Korean Air 777-200s OR 777-300s!
