Why Is It Important For Utiliziation To Be Low?

Lower utilization means your flights are on time and your ratings thus go up. Also, it is more realistic to run your aircraft with lower utilization. Most real-life low-cost airlines, which try to get max utilization out of their aircraft, are at about 10-15 hours utilization (although that varies significantly between airlines and route networks).

I've always tried to get my utiliziation (I don't know if I'm spelling right) as high as possible but I recently found out that it should be lower. I always thought the higher the better but I was wrong. Why is it better for utilization to be lower?
Run your planes as hard as you can, as much as you can, with the most seats... that`s how you win over the spamlines

Your flights will be on-time and it is more realistic. NO airline IRL flies 20 hrs/day for ANY plane.

So that you conform to our arbitrary standards of what a good airline is
Of course it's impossible to "win" a sandbox game like AE

Define "good"
You know - IFS and IFE that a real airline would do, realistic hours and a low amount of fleet types.

One could also define 'good' as an airline that has a very high valuation and finishes high on the leaderboard. It's all subjective.

It's not important. Every single minute your plane sits idle, it's losing money. Your planes, no matter how old, will never suffer any major mechanical issue that prevents it from completing all of its scheduled flights per day. Your mechanics, no matter how little you pay them, are incredibly fast and efficient with maintenance, too.

Well if you want to get into the top 5 that is the only way to play, none of my airlines have ever had 1000 CL-44s with 0% utilization

I was trying to point out the passionate hatred you seem to have for people who play to get the highest valuation.

People like to win. It's a game. There will be spamlines and there will be "realistic-lines". Do you want to win? Choose the first option. Do you want to pretend that you are the CEO of an airline? Go for the second.
