When I first started my airline, it was in the middle of the game, so it was difficult to keep up. Even though I had read the manual, I was slightly confused with available hours until I realized the planes had that many hours left. I ramped up the frequencies, but had to declare bankruptcy so many times.
Then we had some server problems, followed by a reset. This time, I was doing slightly okay, but not the best. I had started at Myrtle Beach. I only managed to pull out maybe 2 757s, but that was as far as I got.
When we had the next reset, I managed to do quite well for a start. I began at Palm Beach, but then moved my flights to Newark. This one helped me by a lot, and I managed to get a few 757s and even some 747s and A340s. Then Travelhouse Air landed on my routes and killed my profits. My DOP had gone from 2.4 million all the way to 900 THOUSAND. I was given some Q400s, but that didn't get me much.
Finally, we had another reset. I started from Raleigh Durham and did quite well. In fact, I have plenty of 757s, A330s, and A319s as well as Q400s. I'm doing much better this round.
So how did your airline go?
So how did your airline go when you started playing?

this round was my best, although I have stopped playing until the reset. I really credit this to my early jet purchase.

1st time in Australia, Bankrupt within days, not enough citys to serve in AUS
2nd time in Germany, managed to get a REASONABLE DOP that earned me just one extra aircraft another B1900D
SAT OUT FOR 3-4 MONTHS
3rd time Destroyed, mauled and burnt to the ground at Germany (thats what happens when you dont start fresh)
4th time (now) i started a week into the game and was surprised to be able to purchase my first Airbus within 1 week! no more beechs, the smallest i now have is the Q400! im glad not to be killed again because i wouldve just left forever because when it happens 4 times i would give up. (this round has been my best)

First time bombed at COS, moved to DEN (bankrupt 5+ times)
2nd time moved from DEN to ORD early in game (hurt me quite abit) and well the rest is history, now at ORD (kinda), STL, PDX, BHX and on top 20.

I came in towards the end of the last round and with my 2/3 B1900s never got off the ground and probably was about as much of a pain in the backside to everyone else as those little ones with their $40 fares are to me now. Anyway, after the reset I got off to a rather good start (considering I fly in/from NZ) and am now by far the most successful airline in Australia/New Zealand, not counting, admittedly, all those who made a fortune elsewhere and now flood the local markets with their AC which they bought with European or US money. Which is quite amazing, considering that I could tell these people of a few routes that would be a lot more profitable, only they wouldn't be connected to my network and I thus don't want to fly on them (plus I don't have the AC to go there without giving up my home routes on some of which I hardly make any money) .... So I guess, considering that I am comitted to being a local airline that primarily wants to grow in the region, serving mainly NZ, I am doing rather well indeed....

Last round i started i think 2 years into the game so it wasnt completely saturated but i soon found out that 2 1900Ds from LHR LGW ATL FRA IBZ and big cities like that I had no chance so i tried CAI/HUR and grew a lot considering i was in year 5 by then and ended up with 3 B1900Ds 1 Q400, 4 ATR-42, 3 ATR72s and a Saab, and I had all middle east covered and some cities in Europe & Africa, this being my second round Im ranked 58th now whith nearly 60 aircraft...hope to do better next round...

Great. Second place pre-reset 1, and that was after not playing for a few months.
