maybe, just MAYBE, some people find joy in creating an airline network with global destinations instead of trying to get as much r/t profit out of every flight as possible.
Also a yield distance curve describes the income per mile in respect to the distance of the route.
I have better things to do than to gather the data to determine the relationships presented by those curves
