I agree with this. The Falklands War is a historical event that just can not push away. Yes the discussion will might get a little bit heated because people have different views on what actually happened and who actually "owns" the islands, but by having an open discussion where personal views gets shared is important in order to understand each other even though people might disagree. It makes us more open-minded and respect that other people have a different view and thought than yourself.
I am not that into the Falklands War and the current affairs there, but I support having an open discussion about both political and historical events even though some of these events might be controversial for some.
The current affairs forum is "intended for the civil exchange of views and ideas regarding world affairs" so the thread about the Falklands Islands should be open (unless the discussion ends up with personal attacks and such) as most other topics there. There is even topics that are far more controversial that is open, but this is not.
