Let's take this roleplay to the next level!

 

RULES:

 

1. It has to be certifiable by the world's international aircraft design standards if you want to be able to sell your airplanes to countries that follow them!

 

Refer to these guidelines for aircraft design:

 

Aircraft Classification to determine the general dimensions of the aircraft

Doors and Exits Standards to determine the size/location of doors which will relate to passenger capacity of the aircraft

Unit Load Device for those would be cargo airplane makers

There are many more standards from FAA (Transport Category Airplanes), IATA, and EASA, CAAC, SCAA and many other administrative bodies per country.

 

Don't be overwhelmed, just observe the basics, and common sense.

 

2. Provide a template! It can be a simple line drawing. No template, your program will be ignored. The template means your aircraft is in production.

 

3. For your aircraft to be considered sold to a customer, the customer should have their livery painted on the template. To order an aircraft, have it painted in your livery.

 

4. Provide general specifications (length, wingspan, design weights, performance, and propulsion specifications).

 

 

Extra (optional) notes to make this place more fun and colorful:

 

1. Provide seat maps if possible (typical configurations or customer specific)

 

2. Technical drawings like 3-views and structural diagrams will make your airplane more real.

 

3. You're not limited to passenger aircraft. Design military, bizjets and multirole craft!

 

4. You can use real world parts suppliers (engines, avionics, interior) or your own.

ASEAN PRIDE!

 

 

Islander Aerospace is an ASEAN aircraft manufacturing consortium. It started in 1998 after the merger of various aircraft engineering firms in Southeast Asia after the Asian financial crisis of 1997. As a result of the aggressive recovery of the ASEAN economies, governments of member states decided to get into high-end manufacturing to firm its place in global trade. Islander is headquartered in Bandung, Indonesia where its final assembly plant is also located. A larger, final assembly plant is set to open in General Santos City in the Philippines to accommodate the manufacturing of larger aircraft.

Cluckerson Inc., parent company of MISRAIR EGYPTIAN AIRLINES, has today signed a firm order of 12 Ikarus IK-103 aircraft configured in high density 127Y seating with options for 6 more aircraft. The deal is estimated to be worth almost $1billion.

Furthermore, the airline has signed a memorandum of understanding for 8 IK-206 and 8 IK-512 aircraft.

Shaankara Aerospace is an Indian consortium headquartered in Delhi with manufacturing facilities in Mumbai, India and final assembly taking place in Delhi and also Sao Jose Dos Campos in Brazil. It began operations in 2003 and began a design in collaboration with Embraer for a mid size, regional to short haul aircraft based on the E190 with improved aerodynamics and upgraded systems.

The design was launched as the Shaankara Series 60 'Maharaja' and is due to enter service with launch customer Air Bengal. The aircraft is ideal for regional as well as domestic operations and island hopping and is designed to operate on routes where an A320 or 737 would be too large but regional jet (CRJ for example) would be too small along with having a reasonable range to compete effectively with similar sized aircraft.

Shaankara Aerospace first international customer

 

Air Danphe expands its short haul fleet with and order of four Shaankara Series 60 jets with options for an additional two. Air Danphe will be Shaankara Aerospace's first civilian airline customer outside of its hometown in India.

 

 

First Islander ATP-XL delivered to Jiwa Air

 

Islander delivers its first ATP-XL to Indonesia's Jiwa Air. After years of delays, technical difficulties and failed contracts, Islander Aerospace, an ASEAN consortium of aircraft engineering firms delivers its first commercial airliner. This is a huge milestone for Southeast Asia's aviation industry which intends to challenge the big players of the West. The ATP-XL will be configured in 78-seat all-economy layout and fly within the Sumatra Island and Java. The airline has 20 on order.

 

 

Philippine Airways expands its domestic fleet with Islander and Shaankara aircraft

 

Philippine Airways announced an order of 8 Islander ATP-XL and 12 Shaankara Series 60 aircraft for its domestic fleet expansion and renewal. The ATP-XL is a 70-seat turboprop ideal for inter-island routes and short runways and the Series 60 is a regional jet ideal for connectivity between smaller cities of Visayas and Mindanao. Both aircraft types are the latest in civil aircraft technology featuring state-of-the-art fly-by-wire technology that reduces pilot workload and increases overall safety.

 

 

Technical definition of the first all-new Islander narrowbody completed

 

The Islander I600 has achieved a major milestone by completing its technical definition phase. The I600 will be the first member of the new Islander narrowbody family to be introduced. The new airliner is Islander Aerospace's first clean-sheet design. It will seat a maximum of 199 seats as a request of the many low cost carriers that are potential customers of the aircraft. 199 passengers will be a sweet spot for the airlines as it will not require an additional flight attendant, saving labor costs. The aircraft will also be featuring next generation geared turbofan engines supplied by Pratt & Whitney. The ASEAN has also its indigenous engine under development. These new engines are projected to have 12-16% in fuel savings.

Pacific Air West announces an order for 12 Shaankara Series 60 aircraft with another 12 on option, and 14 Ikarus IK103's with 7 on option. The aircraft will be used to expand the regional network from SFO and LAX.

Serbavia also announces an order for 6 Ikarus IK103's. Next to supporting the local economy, the airline will be using them to expand the regional operations. The first aircraft which was delivered (YU-BBA) was named Novi Pazar (Нови Пазар)

Himalayan Airlines announces it has placed an order for 9 Islander ATP XLs to replace its current ageing fleet of BAe ATPs.

 

The new turboprop will complement Himalayan's existing fleet of Airbus A319s, DH6 Twin Otters and ATR-72 and will fly routes within Nepal and the surrounding area due to its unique ability to reach remote airports within Himalayan's route network. 

 

Also Shaankara Aerospace announced it would be consulting potential customers to discuss a stretched version of the Series 60.

Ikarus announces another new aircraft - the IK406.

Following the current trend of reducing operating costs, the IK406 seeks to bring reability with modern components, which also include the GENx engines.

Next to introducing the IK406, Ikarus has also announced that it was seeking to make a longer version of the IK512, which would seat anywhere between 450 and 520 passengers.

A Division of Agre International, Intera previously manufactured aircraft parts for both civilian and military contractors, as well as provided design and logistics guidance for various companies. Now, after years of development, Intera are announcing their first aircraft.

During the Paris Air Show 2017, Vol Group placed an order for five Intera R1-20s with options for another five. It is expected that the airplanes will go to Vol Air Lines and used on transatlantic routes from Paris. However some argue that the five aircraft will be given to Flugberlin to test its profitability on Flugberlin's growing longhaul network.
