Lets say we have two airlines in the same alliance flying out of the same airport. (Airline A, Airline B ) If Airline A builds a hub does Airline B have to build one so its pax's can connect onto Airline A's flights? Or is Airline A's hub good for all alliance airlines in that airport?

As long as one member of the alliance has a hub at a certain airport, all alliance members can get connection passengers from it.

If both Airline A and Airline B have hubs at the same airport, AND both Airlines are in the same alliance, then the number of connecting passengers available to each expands significantly more and at a faster rate for routes having that airport as one of the endpoints.

There are 3 takeaways from this:

1) Join an alliance which has as many members in your chosen home country as possible, because you maximize overlapping hub count opportunities.

2)  The more members there are that hubify a particular airport, the greater is the mass effect relative to connecting passengers.  (This is why you see a large number of airlines with tons of flights on the same route.)

3) Technically, if everyone joined the exact same alliance, then the shared hub benefits would be maximal - i.e., couldn't be any higher, and would be shared/accessible to all players equally.  Of course, people being who they are, that'll probably never happen. (But it would be very interesting for sure!)
