Russia's aviation market still remains relatively underdeveloped when compared to other gigantic countries like Canada, China, and the US, so there's still room left over for another airline to operate there, especially after Transaero went bankrupt. But I don't know of any major airports that still have decent surplus capacity for it--since all three of Moscow's airports where most of the flights operate are at or near capacity with little, if any, room for further expansion. Any ideas on which other airports might be the most ideal for a new airline? Comment below

Russia has a GDP smaller than the State of California, a terrible economy, and sanctions placed on it by many western countries. Why on earth do you think it has an underdeveloped aviation market? Aeroflot barely stay afloat and they're largely government funded. Them and S7 are about as much capacity as Russia can handle, especially when Russia isn't well placed for transit traffic, and there's a ton of competition from airlines in much more stable countries for it anyway.

- Big part of the populations can't afford to fly on Full service airlines. Their big GDP are concentrated on Moscow and on rich people. Normal folks can't afford flying to Vladivostok from St. Petersburg for holiday.

- Distance between major cities are extremely big. Which means long domestic flights, and higher ticket prices, way more expensive compared to European flights.

- High Corruptions. (The biggest factors)

- Russian sanctions.

- Weak market. Domestically and Internationally. I don't recall anybody wants to visit russia, including some russians I know.

- Last thing many russians need is flying to somewhere.
