Well... Rotterdam The Hague Airport didn't have any major crashes, but there happened a few small crashes, so let's go with Amsterdam Schiphol Airport instead. What crashes happened at your closest (international) airport?

Frankfurt:

A Boeing 747-430 was being prepared at Frankfurt International Airport's Gate A23 for a scheduled flight, LH760, to Delhi, India. Some repairs were carried out on the hydraulics of the left hand body gear while parked at the gate. During a test sequence the nose landing gear's ground lock pin fell out. This caused the nose landing gear to retract. The nose fell onto a push-back truck.

Toronto Pearson Airport:

450px-Airfranceflight358.jpg

The accident occurred on August 2, 2005 at 20:03 UTC (16:03 EDT). Air France Flight 358, an Airbus A340-313E with 297 passengers and 12 crew, overshot the end of runway 24L at Toronto Pearson International Airport (in Mississauga, Ontario) and came to rest in a small ravine 300 m (980 ft) past the end of the runway. All passengers and crew evacuated the aircraft successfully. Twelve major injuries and no fatalities resulted from the accident.[9] The rest suffered minor or no injuries. A post-crash fire destroyed the aircraft.

British Airways flight 2276, a Boeing 777-200ER bound for London-Gatwick on September 8, 2015. One of the engines suffered uncontained engine failure during takeoff, causing it to catch fire. The only injuries were during the evacuation, and the plane was put back into service a few months later.

Tegel airport (Berlin):

There was only one deadly accident in the history of the airport.

It was a 727-200F of PanAm which crashes at the ILS-Approach near a Soviet airbase.

The cause was never found out because the Soviets gave only the half of the frackage.

Schonefeld (also in Berlin):
There was three major accident in the history of the airport.
The first one was in 1972 which is the worst accident.
A IL-62 of the Interflug took-off from SXF to Warna.
In the rear of the plane a fire broke out an at Königs-Wusterhausen the plane broke apart and carashed and nobody surrived.

https://en.wikipedia...en_air_disaster

The 2nd deadly accident was in the year 1986.

An Aeroflot TU-134 plane crashed at the approach because the crew tryed to made a Go-Around because they made an approach to the false runway due a language missunderstanding.

Only 10 people surrived this accident and under the victims was a school-class.

https://en.wikipedia...flot_Flight_892

The last accident was in the year 1989.

A IL-62 of the Interflug crashed when the crew aborted the take off because the elevator was blocked.

The Flight-Ingeneer made a mistake.

He accidentelly switched off the engines and the plane shot over the runway.

From 113 passengers 93 surrived.

Many died people maybe surrived when the tower had noticed the accident a few minute earlier and they

requested emergencies from West-Berlin that was nearer as the the emergency of the airport.

United Airlines Flight 232 was a DC-10 (registered N1819U) that on July 19, 1989 crash-landed in Sioux City, Iowa after suffering catastrophic failure of its tail-mounted engine, which led to the loss of all flight controls. The flight was en route from Stapleton International Airport in Denver, Colorado to O'Hare International Airport in Chicago. Of the 296 people on board, 111 died in the accident and 185 survived in total.

I used to work at Hanscom Field, a major GA airport in the suburbs of Boston. While I was working there, a Gulfstream IV overran the runway on takeoff and crashed into a creek past the end of the runway.

Some 10 years back an Qatar Airways Aircraft at Abu Dhabi Hangar caught fire. It cause millions in damage and also the aircraft was written off. At the end it was blamed that a leak had occurred thus resulting in a fire.

The worst accident we've had at ADL was Whyalla Flight 904, that crashed enroute to Whyalla with the loss of all souls, other than that, mainly just the usual assortment of airshow crashes and wheels up landings at parafield. Butttttt, 9M-MRO and MRD were on the MH136/137 rotation into ADL too

Nearest crash to me (though not strictly what was asked) was the Tuskar Rock disaster in which Aer Lingus flight EI 712 was brought down near Tuskar Rock. All 61 onboard died.

In ATH we haven't had any major accidents, but Helios 522 crashed nearby.

In the old airport there were quite a few accidents. The worst DC-6 crash (Olympic 954), that crashed into a mountain on approach, a YS-11 that crashed in the sea close to the airport in fog, a Swissair DC-8 that overran the runway and caught fire killing 14.

We also had an Olympic 747 flying at building height for minutes. Flight 411 was taking off for JFK when an uncontained engine failure occured and the plane couldn't get height. On approach to land after they managed to do so the 747 flew at stall speeds (110 knots or something) but landed safely. Neither Boeing nor anyone else was able to recreate the flight without having the plane stall and crash. Had it done so it could've been one of the deadliest accidents of all time, as it was carrying more than 300 people, and flew directly over Athens.

Dulles (IAD) has been pretty accident-free over the years, but one that sticks in my mind was TWA flight 514 that crashed while en-route to Dulles in 1974. The 727 crashed right into the side of Mt. Weather, and there's still a memorial there to this day.

And, of course, we can't forget American 77 on 9/11 originated at Dulles.

An Emirates A380 routed from Dhaka to Dublin after having to make an emergency stop began its descent, but pilots lost control of the thrust lever and the plane began to descend, and hit the ground at a great speed, instantly killing all 352 passengers on board.

Edit: just saw the title of the video now. ****.

At JFK there's that American A300 that lost its rudder and TWA 843, that L1011 that ran off the runway but somehow everyone got out
