A new Airline has started up and joined the same alliance as me. They have been competing against me on my routes and even market themselves as better than my airline. I thought alliances are a group of airlines that work together to cover as many destinations as possible and don't compete against each other. What should I do?

I thought alliances are a group of airlines that work together to cover as many destinations as possible and don't compete against each other. What should I do?

They are technically supposed to work together but some people don't and they are a disgrace to the alliance principle. Sadly, I don't think there is much you can do. Even if they are removed from the alliance they will still compete.

Some, "spam" alliances are just for airlines to win that 10% bonus in-game reputation if the alliance has more than 600 routes between its members.

If you are in an alliance such as
The SkyWorld Alliance
Universal
National
Sunset Alliance
etc.

These are forum alliances, found in the alliance sub forum in the AE forums, these are more planned out and usually have rules against competition between members.

I stated those since I am part of them and know that they don't allow members to compete against each other.

For example I chose the way to open my own alliance and say in description that competition among members is forbidden.. If you wanted, you could share high demand routes with other members..
